Epilepsy Warriors Foundation is an independent Non-governmental organization and non-profit civil society organization based in Blantyre, Malawi. EWF’s prime motto is bringing Epilepsy ‘out of the shadows’.

Epilepsy Scotland, known as Epilepsy Action Scotland, is a company limited by guarantee. Registered in Scotland No 163987. Scottish Charity No SC000067. Epilepsy Scotland works with people living with epilepsy to ensure that their voice is heard.

Dr Terttu Heikinheimo-Connell

Dr Terttu Heikinheimo-Connell is a Finnish neurologist, with special interest in stroke and epilepsy. Partially her heart belongs to Malawi and Zambia where she spent 10 years of her working life.


Her work was to do with development, teaching, research and caring of patients. During her Career she has worked with many inspirational people, with co-operation they met challenges and made the world a better place.

Lesley G. Donnelly has had epilepsy for 47 years now (since the age of 16) and is currently founder/manager of epilepsy Motive Quotives, which is an informative and inspirational page on facebook for both advocates and people with epilepsyShe is also part of the Epinews Editorial Panel( a bi-annual magazine for people with epilepsy, which is voluntariry done on behalf of Epilepsy South Africa, she has done this for over ten years and is still heavily involved in. Lesley’s advice to anyone with epilepsy is to remain positive, take one day at a time and remember there’s always light at the end of the tunnel!
