INTRODUCTION & BACKGROUND
Epilepsy Warriors Foundation (EWF) is an Organization of Persons with Disabilities (DPO)/ nonprofit organization based in Blantyre, Malawi. EWF’s prime motto is bringing Epilepsy ‘out of the shadows.’
In 2018 a group of educated, dynamic and epilepsy activists living with Epilepsy working in the development sector, got together to establish an organization for addressing the most urgent and pressing needs of people with epilepsy. True to this spirit, the organization was named Epilepsy Rights Foundation; later changed to Epilepsy Warriors Foundation.

Objective:
The consultancy’s objective is to equip EWF staff and volunteers with the necessary skills and knowledge to write compeling proposals, develop a resource mobilisation strategy to increase the long term sustainability of the organization.


2. PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT
The purpose of the assignment is to:
Undertake Donor Land Scaping Analysis
Develop a plan to engage new donors (traditional and non-traditional).
Identify the current gap in resources for sustainable programme intervention
To equip EWF team with techniques of resource mobilization and key concept of proposal writing
Draft master fundraising proposal(s) aligned with EWF’s  Strategy.
To equip the EWF team with Finance Management and Resource Mobilization skills  
Develop a Resource Mobilization Strategy


SCOPE OF THE ASSIGNMENT
The consultant shall implement the following:
Collaborate with senior management team  to create a resource mobilisation strategy and a plan to increase the organizations revenue.
Research Funding prospects and create a database for funding partners for restricted and un-restricted funding.
Develop creative, strategic and meaningful apeals, campaigns and activities

REQUIRED EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCES
Advanced University Degree in social sociences, Development, Planning, administration or a related filed.
Good project proposal writing skills having  knowledge of the grant-making process and with a track record of having developed winning concepts and proposals.
Knowledge of funding sources and trends in the grant-making community
Donor relation
Result oriented grant writer with expertise in researching and analyzing grant opportunities and developing funding strategies
At least 8 years of progressively responsible experience in resource mobilization and global experience in the development sector preferably on human rights, global health and advocacy.
Ability to communicate with donors and senior management, sound judgment, analytic skills, networking and interpersonal skills, ability to plan and organize
Strong interpersonal skills to relate and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders
